Local Moron Successfully Installs PS3 Firmware Update

By celticfrostedflakes

after all the hemming and hawing over whether I should install the newest PS3 firmware update, I finally decided to take the plunge. I had heard rumors that ver. 2.40 had been freezing up PS3s regardless of what SKU it was. this morning, I d/l it from the PS forums, and was able to install it on my PS3 (60 GB ver.) without a hitch. my primary concern was that it might freeze my PS3, and cause some of my data on the hdd to become corrupt. of course, now that most of the newer PS3 titles are requiring you to install the game to the hdd (under the guise that it will result in shorter load times) the vast majority of my disk space is consumed with game data. however, I do have some whippedass updates in 720p that I would hate to have deleted due to Sony’s incompetence. but, that’s a story for another time. anywho, this firmware update is pretty much useless to me as I’ve already mentioned in a previous post. I can now google search for amputee midget porn while playing Metal Gear Solid 4, big fucking whoop! give me some trophies retroactively for games like GTA IV and then I’ll give a shit!

on two unrelated notes, I have a pretty bitchin’ South Park theme running on my PS3. also, can someone please explain why I need 4+ GB of free space to install Hot Shits Golf: Out of Bounds?!? it’s a fucking golf game, for chrissakes (which I love, btw)

at least you have a working console man!

lemme know if you know someplace that does ps2 repairs. i think i have to remove my stickers and pretend like it’s not modded — usually when they see that it’s modded, they wont fix it. the fuckers.

you should burn backups of all your important porn^H^H^H^Hdata.
