Breaking Down The So-Called “Legends of WrestleMania” Roster (Part I)

first of all, there is no Macho Man Randy Savage, so there is no way in hell I will ever buy this game! a man who put on aruguably some of the best matches in WrestleMania history, won the WWF title on two separate occasions, and made the Ultimate Warrior appear as tho he actually had wrestling talent, is not in this game. there is no viable explanation for his omission from the game, so let’s just move on with part 1 of the roster.

the criteria for making my list is quite simple:
1) involved in a title match
2) involved in a main event match
3) involved in a memorable feud
remember ppl, these are Legends…of WRESTLEMANIA!

Andre The Giant – LEGEND – defeated Big John Studd (I) won a 20-man battle royal (II) fought Hulk Hogan (III and IV)

Animal & Hawk – NOT A LEGEND – legendary tag team? yes! but their biggest match was (VII) beating Power & Glory in 59 seconds

Arn Anderson – NOT A LEGEND – defeated Strike Force as a member of The Brain Busters (V) better known as a member of The Four Horsemen in the NWA/WCW

Bam Bam Bigelow – NOT A LEGEND – sorry, but losing to Lawrence Taylor (XI) is something no wrestler ever wants to be remembered for. R.I.P.

Big Boss Man – NOT A LEGEND – teamed with Akeen as part of the Twin Towers against The Rockers (V); hanged during his Hell In A Cell Match vs. Undertaker (XV)

Big John Studd – LEGEND – lost Body Slam Challenge to Andre (I)

Bret Hart – LEGEND – multiple time tag and singles champion; a staple at WrestleMania (II-XII)

“British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith – LEGEND – won tag team gold as member of the British Bulldogs (with Dynamite Kid) at WrestleMania II

Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake – LEGEND – lost said tag titles (with Greg Valentine); feuded with Honky Tonk Man (IV) Ted DiBiase (V); teamed with Hulk Hogan to challenge Money Inc. for tag titles (IX)

Dusty Rhodes – NOT A LEGEND – wrestled a mixed-tag match with Saphire vs. Savage and Sensational Sherri (VI)

Greg “The Hammer” Valentine – LEGEND – Beefcake’s tag team partner in the Dream Team; defended Intercontinental title vs. Junkyard Dog (I)

“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan – NOT A LEGEND – lost to Ted DiBiase in the opening round of the WWF Title Tournament (IV)

Honky Tonk Man – LEGEND – defeated Jake “The Snake” Roberts (III) and still the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion in WWF/E history

Hulk Hogan – LEGEND – headlined each of the first nine WrestleManias

Hunter Hearst Helmsley – LEGEND – if we’re going strictly by his original incarnation circa 1996, then no (ie jobbing to Ultimate Warrior at XII) but if you take his career as a whole, then yes

Iron Sheik – LEGEND – won tag team gold with Nikolai Volkoff vs. U.S. Express (I); appeared as Sgt. Slaughter’s manager, General Adnam (VII); won “Gimmick” Battle Royal (XVII)

Jake “The Snake” Roberts – LEGEND – epic feuds with the Undertaker (VIII) and “Ravishing” Rick Rude (IV)

Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart – LEGEND – defeated the Bolsheviks in 19 seconds (VI) as member of Hart Foundation (with Bret Hart) multiple time tag team champ
