The Champ Is Here!

after a one year absence from MMA, Brock Lesnar made a successful return at UFC 116 on Saturday nite. he unified the heavyweight title, handing Shane Carwin his first professional loss in 13 fights. Lesnar improved his MMA record to 5-1.

Carwin was on the offensive in the first round, raining blows upon Brock, as he covered up, in the corner. Carwin eventually ran out of steam in the second round, submitting to an arm bar triangle. maybe you can partially attribute Lesnar’s win to the fact that Carwin had never been past the first round.

next up for Lesnar is Cain Velasquez. altho Fedor Emelianenko and Alistair Overeem, would make worthy contenders, as well.

I will admit i am a bit of a Lesnar mark, as he was one of my favourites, when he wrestled in WWE. Paul Heyman, who I believe may just be the greatest wrestling mind, the business has ever seen, praised Lesnar in the build-up to the fight.
