This Olde Blog Rambles On Past 200,000 Hits

our head of inferwebz teknologeez, Dr. Martin van Nostrand, informed us that our blog reached 200,000 hits at approx. 4:20 PM on January 4. I believe that if u can average 1000 hits a week with little to no promotion, and writing about things that may only appeal to a very small demographic, then u are a success. it took us 3.5 years to reach this milestone, and nearly 2 years since we hit 100,000 (March 15, 2010, which also happened to be the date of the Megadeth/Testament show I went to) here’s a statistical look at where those hits came from:

62% of traffic is generated thanks to our Peabody Award-winning coverage of America’s favourite underground lesbian sexfight organization, Ultimate Surrender.
14% of traffic is generated by our wacky Onion-esque headlines, which invariably are related to either work or hanging out with my tude brahs.
12% of traffic comes from various reviews I write, whether it’s about tv shows, movies, wrasslin’ etc.
9% of the traffic came from ppl searching for naked pics of Eva Angelina, and our article about that time I went to a bachelor party, where I met a stripper who looked like Eva. this is still our most-viewed article of all time (1500+ views and counting) THANKS PORNOGRAPHY!!!
3% of traffic came from our scathing op-ed piece in which we blamed the 2008 stock market crash/housing collapse on the decline of Glenn Danzig’s singing voice.

thanks to everyone who has viewed and/or left comments on this blog. I hope u have enjoyed reading this, as much as I have enjoyed writing. I’ll keep ramblin’ on…

Congrats! For me, it’s “Drunk teens shitting”, so I had to make a “sober grannies eating” page to give them the opposite of what they wanted. I changed the article at the URL they kept going to 😉
