first things first, somebody should teach Vinman how to read a calendar, and buy him a dictionary, b/c it wasn’t the 25th anniversary of the Royal Rumble. why do they always confuse the word anniversary with annual? that wasn’t quite as annoying as hearing Michael Cole flap his gums every 15 minutes about what was trending during the show. yes, I get it! you’ve successfully brainwashed all the 12 year-old Cena fans into using twitter, congratulations!
Sheamus won the Royal Rumble, which is good. I was hoping Wade Barrett would win, but I’m not too disappointed, since they didn’t go with either Orton or Jericho. every other prediction I made about the show, came to fruition.
Randy Orton d. Dolph Ziggler – Barrett was up in his luxury box to watch the match. Barrett vs. Orton will take place at this week’s Smackdown tapings. it’s a safe bet that both of them will be involved in the Smackdown Elimination Chamber match, and quite possibly they will have a match at Mania.
Brodus Clay d. Tyler Reks – another squash match for the Funkasaurus, where his entrance lasted longer than the match. they should seriously consider turning Brodus heel, if they have any intention of using him for anything other than his comedic dancing skills.
Daniel Bryan d. CM Punk by DQ – the crowd hated Bryan so much, they didn’t even bother to boo him. Punk and Bryan did the code of honour handshake, as a nod to ROH. and somewhere, Dave Lagana creamed in his pantaloons. solid match before Chris Jericho ran in to attack Bryan, but he was there primarily to lay a beatdown on Punk. Punk vs. Y2J at Mania would be an epic match, capable of overshadowing Rock-Cena, just in terms of pure in-ring talent.
Kofi Kingston d. The Miz – Miz came out cutting a promo about all the great work he put in at the Royal Rumble, and how he still plans to headline Mania. he talks about how Kofi did a handstand to avoid elimination at the Rumble. R-Truth was on commentary, and had some sort of bizarre Abbott and Costello routine going with Michael Cole. Kofi won with the Trouble in Paradise.
Beth Phoenix d. Eve – squash match, that lasted all of about 30 seconds. Kane comes up from behind on Eve, but John Cena runs in to make the save. they battle back and forth, but Cena grabs the advantage, by slamming Kane upside the head with the steel steps. Cena goes for the F-U on the announce table, but Kane escapes into the crowd. this feud will be coming to a head with some sort of stipulation match at Elimination Chamber
Johnny Laryngitis was up for his performance review with Triple H. Johnny says he’ll do anything to save his job, so Trips refers to Vinman’s “Kiss My Ass Club” Johnny gets down on his knees and puckers up. Trips said he was only kidding, and that Johnny needs to get help. right before Trips is gonna fire him, the gong sounds, and out comes the Undertaker. great reaction from Trips as he stares at the entrance ramp, looking on in both disbelief and anger. even after all these years, I still get goosebumps when I see Taker entering thru the fog in his long black trenchcoat. Taker stares up at the WrestleMania XXVIII sign, but Trips pats him on the shoulder, and leaves the ring. Taker stares back at him, as the show ends.
they announced the participants in the RAW Elimination Chamber match:
CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz vs. R-Truth vs. Kofi Kingston
they’re going to announce the Smackdown Elimination Chamber match participants at tonite’s tapings, I assume it’s going to be:
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Mark Henry vs. Big Show vs. Wade Barrett vs. Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes
Sheamus will most likely be challenging for the WHC at Mania.
third time’s the charm?!?
